Once here, you'll immediately notice how the sweet, fragrant air will begin to relax you. Stepping inside Tallgrass, you'll be struck by the openness and abundance of natural Michigan light streaming in from all sides, including the multiple skylights. You won't come for the granite countertops, stainless sinks and appliances, nuanced lighting or vaulted ceilings in the great room, but each will make your stay more comfortable and distraction free as you use our home as a base for your daily excursions around southwest Michigan. We have stayed at the Tallgrass Cottage twice in 2011, and look forward to many more visits in the future. The Tallgrass Cottage is our new found home away from home. We have very high standards and are extremely picky. Waya Rentals has exceeded them. This is not your typical "cottage in the woods". My mother used to say her idea of camping is the Holiday Inn. My idea of camping is the Tallgrass Cottage. Set your expectations high - this is no tent in the woods. It's a marvelous gem of a getaway luxury cottage with all of the amenities of home. The location is perfect, close to everything to do in Harbor County, yet it feels secluded and quiet. We really like the open and spacious floorplan. The entire front of the house is a two story great room with tons of light and windows, with plenty of space to spread out and read, watch TV, and enjoy viewing the outdoors (and there is actually tallgrass all around!). The owner has taken time to put special touches into the home, like an old antique desk in one of the bedrooms, the window seats in the front room, or the game table in the loft, that make this place feel super inviting. The home is nicely decorated, comfortable, clean, and the pictures are extremely accurate. It has all of the modern conveniences of home, we enjoy the fully equipped kitchen (we love the large amount of counter space to prepare meals together), and the nice big flat screen TV in living room - a necessity for us to keep up with our favorite shows. The furniture is very comfortable. The screened porch is another plus and we find it to be quite relaxing. Also, having two of the bedrooms and bathrooms on the first floor is wonderful, and makes it easy for loading/unloading luggage. For a nice dinner out, we always go to Tabor Hill Winery. We have stayed in many places, and this is by far one of the best. Working with Waya Rentals is always a postive experience, and we would highly recommend it.

This listing is accurate, property is clean and well maintained, we stayed for a weekend in the winter and had a great time, I imagine it is even better in the summer, location is great, half way between Chicago and Grand Rapids, we will be back next year, we visited Four Winds Casino, Rosie's, Jimmy's & The Pub, highly recommend all of them, Ron was great to work with, stayed in contact with both before and after our visit.

This was my second year at the Tallgrass Cottage, and hopefully just the second of many more to come! A relatively short drive from the hustle and bustle of Chicago, this little vacation gem sits a heartbeat from the center of quaint New Buffalo. One can enjoy antiquing, sledding, dining, or just plain peace and quiet by the fire. The house is light and airy with an open floor plan, a fully-equipped kitchen, spacious bedrooms, a huge enclosed porch, and modern amenities. It's comfortable, inviting, and totally family-friendly -- and the perfect place to make wonderful memories. I'm already looking forward to next year!

I stayed here last year in February and I am planning to go back again this month! It's only about an hour and 15 mins. by car from downtown Chicago! I went with two friends and our three 8-year old daughters for a girls weekend. The house is spacious (great lofted area for the kids), clean, quiet and beautiful. A super functional kitchen gives way to an open great room that was great for the six of us. I wish we could have used the grill on the attached patio! We roasted marshmallows and made s'mores in the fireplace, and it was a short drive to one of the best little sledding hills in the area! The house is ideal if you have kids, or if you just want some quiet time AWAY from the kids! Like I said, this will be my second year in a row here and I plan to make this an annual - hopefully bi-annual - getaway!

WOW!!!! What an amazing suprise this home is! It's absolutely perfect for a short or long weekend!!. The home is warm and inviting and the location is great!! It's only a short drive from Chicago, which is a plus for sure!! I love to visit and spend time here!!
